Calm green water enclosed by dense mangroves beneath an open sky at Casa Cenote

The Setting

Why Casa Cenote?

Casa Cenote is an open cenote surrounded by mangroves and directly connected to the Caribbean Sea. Its clear-water environment brings freshwater and saltwater together, which may create a visible halocline.

For this experience, the route follows a shallow profile with a maximum depth of approximately 5 meters—well suited to a controlled first scuba dive.

Mangrove roots, tropical fish, natural sunlight and coastal aquatic life may be encountered, depending on conditions.
