Before Your Course
What You Need
Minimum Age
10 years old. Students from ages 10–14 receive the Junior Open Water Diver certification according to applicable SSI standards.
Medical Questionnaire
Every student must complete the standard diving medical questionnaire. If a response indicates a potentially relevant medical condition, written medical clearance may be required before participating in the water sessions.
MySSI Account
Create your MySSI account and complete the required digital learning modules as instructed before or during the course.
Participants must also complete the required liability and risk acknowledgment documentation.
